Inattentive, dreamy, impulsive? Time for an AD (H) S clarification
People with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) show characteristic behavioral patterns in the areas of attention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Typical features include difficulty concentrating on details, excessive motor restlessness, or impulsive responses. People with attention deficit disorder (ADD), on the other hand, focus primarily on difficulties in attention, while they often appear dreamy and less hyperactive. We offer specific diagnostics and clarification of ADHD and ADD for adults aged 18 and over to provide a well-founded assessment and continued support.
Possible indications for an AD (H) S diagnosis:
- significant problems with attention and concentration at school or at work
- frequent and recurring onset of motor restlessness
- little emotional control and low frustration tolerance in everyday life
- Occurrence of impulsive behavior patterns in school/professional and social situations
- Behavioral problems confirmed by different people (e.g. teacher, pediatrician, etc.)
- Poor self-assessment: both underestimation and overestimation
Purpose of the AD (H) S clarification:
The clarification objectively answers the question of whether ADHD/ ADD exists or not. This provides clarity about possible causes of everyday problems and forms the basis for individually tailored offers of help that can make life easier. The clarification provides you with insights into your personal situation and concrete approaches to make targeted use of your strengths and successfully overcome challenges.
Expiration:
1st appointment: initial consultation (1h)
During the initial consultation, your individual situation will be discussed in detail in order to understand your personal challenges and concerns. The focus is on your specific needs in order to create a tailor-made basis for further diagnostics and support. This interview allows you to comprehensively look at your life story and current difficulties in an appreciative setting.
2nd appointment: Thorough clarification through standardized psychological tests (1h)
Following the initial interview, several standardized psychological tests are carried out in the form of questionnaires. These enable a structured and objective recording of relevant symptoms and behaviours. The results help to obtain a comprehensive picture and to further clarify the diagnosis.
3rd date: Continuation & completion of standardized psychological tests (1h)
During this appointment, the diagnostic evaluation will be continued and all questionnaires will be completed. As a result, all necessary test results are available at the end, which enable a comprehensive and precise assessment. This data forms the basis for the subsequent evaluation and individual discussion of the results in the final discussion.
4th deadline: Reporting (in absentia)
In order to analyse and record the results in a structured manner, a comprehensive report is prepared. This step is carried out without the presence of the client. The report serves as a basis for further discussions and possible recommendations for therapy or support.
5th final discussion (1h)
The last step is a detailed final discussion. The results of the tests are discussed in detail, open questions are clarified and the further course is planned together. The client's needs and situation are addressed individually in order to develop the best possible support and appropriate recommendations.
costs:
These costs amount to 1490.00 CHF and consist of discussions, the implementation of standardized tests, the evaluation and interpretation of the results, and the writing of a comprehensive report. Please note that health insurance generally does not cover any costs for clarification. It is therefore important to plan financing in advance. Some supplementary insurance policies partially cover the costs of clarification — please clarify this directly with your insurance company in advance.
Symptoms & effects
People with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) often struggle with inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. These symptoms can lead to difficulties in school, work, and social relationships. Those affected often have problems organising tasks, tend to forget and are easily distracted. This can lead to frustration, low self-esteem, and interpersonal misunderstandings.
Strategies for improvement
A structured daily routine with clear routines can help you cope with everyday life better. Special coaching programs help develop individual strategies for attention management and impulse control. Techniques such as breaking down tasks into smaller steps and using reminders can make it easier to organize. In addition, adapted drug therapy combined with behavioral therapy can alleviate symptoms and improve the quality of life.
