Was ist ADHS? Erklärung der Symptome, Ursachen und wie sich ADHS im Alltag zeigen kann – bei Kindern und Erwachsenen.
ADHS steht für Aufmerksamkeitsdefizit-Hyperaktivitätsstörung. Es handelt sich um eine neurologische Besonderheit, die sich auf Aufmerksamkeit, Impulsivität und Aktivitätsniveau auswirken kann.
Viele Menschen verbinden ADHS hauptsächlich mit Kindern, doch auch Erwachsene können davon betroffen sein. In vielen Fällen bleibt ADHS lange unerkannt und wird erst später im Leben richtig eingeordnet.
Die Symptome können von Person zu Person unterschiedlich stark ausgeprägt sein. Häufig zeigen sich jedoch drei zentrale Bereiche:
Unaufmerksamkeit
Menschen mit ADHS haben oft Schwierigkeiten, ihre Aufmerksamkeit über längere Zeit auf eine Aufgabe zu richten.
Impulsivität
Manche reagieren schneller oder spontaner, ohne lange über Konsequenzen nachzudenken.
Hyperaktivität
Ein inneres Gefühl von Unruhe oder ein starkes Bedürfnis nach Bewegung kann ebenfalls auftreten.
Nicht jeder Mensch mit ADHS zeigt alle Symptome in gleicher Weise.
Bei Kindern wird ADHS oft durch starke Aktivität oder Konzentrationsprobleme in der Schule sichtbar.
Bei Erwachsenen äußert sich ADHS häufig anders, zum Beispiel durch:
